Buying a car in Jack

CarmaCars does not sell cars or arrange loans; we rent cars, which helps when you are deciding. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells.

Try it for a week first

Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

Buying smart in Ontario

Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package.

Before your next car arrives

Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.
