Trade In for Unity

CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell, lend or lease, but renting first is a smart step before buying. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours.

Try it for a week first

A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Checks worth doing

Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car.

Before your next car arrives

A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush.
