Trade In: what CarmaCars does

CarmaCars does not sell cars. We rent them, which makes us a good place to try a model before you buy. We do not buy cars or take trade-ins. If you would rather keep your car and have it earn, our owner program rents it out for you. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells.

Rent it before you buy it

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

Checks worth doing

Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired.

A car meanwhile

Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing.

Distance, honestly

To be clear: CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area, not in Ventanillas. About 3,288 km separate central Toronto and Ventanillas, far past our 80 km delivery area.

Shopping in Ventanillas? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Ventanillas if you like. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
