A car for Ames

Searching for car rental in Ames? Here is the honest picture from CarmaCars, a Toronto rental company. Rent by the day, the week or up to 365 days at a time. Drivers 18 and older with an Ontario G2 or G licence can rent. The cars below are our own listings, each with photos of that car.

Before you plan around us

Straight answer: there is no CarmaCars location in Ames. We rent from Toronto. About 1,441 km from our location in Toronto, Ames is too far for our delivery area of about 250 km.

Visiting Toronto from Ames? We can meet you with a car when you arrive. Trips outside Ontario need our written consent. Mention the route in your request. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Ames if you like. Every rate on this site is in Canadian dollars.

Common reasons to rent

Drivers who want to try a different kind of car for a week. Anyone who needs a car for a few days without owning one.

What makes this simple

Whatever the reason for the rental, the steps are the same. Rent by the day, the week or the month, with the same simple request each time. You see the price before you pay, and a person confirms every booking. Each car has its own page with photos of that car, not a stock image of a category.

Who qualifies

Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.

From request to keys

Pick the car and the dates that suit you, then send a request. There is no payment at that point. Our team answers with an offer: the confirmed car, the dates and the full price. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.

The photos on a car's page are of that car. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. Requests need at least 2 hours of notice before the pickup time.
