The steps

Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

The rules, briefly

You must be 18 or older and hold a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.

One more step

Find a car you like and ask for your dates.
