Renting a car around Ruby

CarmaCars is a rental company in Toronto. For Ruby, our help starts there. Good to know: A car while yours is off the road, rented by the day or the week. After a collision, your insurer may pay when your adjuster approves the rental, and we can bill them directly. Every car on the site shows its own rates, deposit and kilometres included.

Where we are

CarmaCars has a single location, in Toronto. Ruby is outside the area we serve. We do not deliver as far as Ruby, about 2,583 km from central Toronto.

For Ruby itself, look for a local rental company; for the Toronto end of the trip, we can help. A trip from Ontario to Ruby needs our written consent before you leave. Need something in Ruby? Send a request and a person replies with an honest answer. Every price here is in Canadian dollars.

When it makes sense

People with family in town who need a second car for a while. People whose car is in the shop, people visiting family, and people trying a model before they buy.

Why a rental from us

Tell us the claim number and the adjuster in your request if the rental is part of a claim. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental when your adjuster approves it. Otherwise the car's own rate applies. You rent the car shown, with its own photos and price. Rates are set per car, so you can choose by budget.

Your request, our offer, your keys

Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

What we ask of drivers

Ontario G2 or G licences are accepted, for drivers 18 and older. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

Every rate includes third-party liability. The car itself needs one of three options: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.

When you know your dates

Questions, dates or both: put them in a request and we answer.
