The useful parts

You deal with a small team that answers the phone and reads every request. Every car is a real listing with its own rates, so you compare before you ask. The same team handles your request, your handover and your questions. A request is free and commits you to nothing.

When it makes sense

Locals who do not keep a car in the city but need one now and then. Families who need a bigger car for a trip than the one they own.

Requesting a car

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. We confirm the details and send an offer. It lists the rental, any delivery and any add-ons. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. A single booking can run up to 365 days. For longer, it renews month after month. Requests need at least 2 hours of notice before the pickup time.

Requirements

You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.
