Car Rental in Downey, CA

Getting a car in Downey

People search for car rental in Downey and find us. Here is how we can help from Toronto. How it works: Rent by the day, the week or up to 365 days at a time. Drivers 18 and older with an Ontario G2 or G licence can rent. Requests are answered by a person, by email and in your account.

About distance

You will not find a CarmaCars location in Downey; we work from Toronto. Our delivery area ends about 250 km from Toronto, and Downey is about 3,502 km out.

Our cars stay around Toronto, so for Downey we can only help with the Toronto part of your travel. Because Downey is outside Ontario, the trip needs our written consent first. If you need a car in Downey itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help. Every price here is in Canadian dollars.

Who it is for

Locals who do not keep a car in the city but need one now and then. Drivers who want to try a different kind of car for a week.

The useful parts

Whatever the reason for the rental, the steps are the same. You deal with a small team that answers the phone and reads every request. Prices are shown car by car, and the offer lists every charge. The request is free, so you can ask without committing.

Know the area

Other places near Downey: Bell Gardens, Santa Fe Springs and Cudahy. If you know Allen Layne Stadium and Stonewood Shopping Center, you know the area.

The nearest airport is Compton/Woodley Airport (CPM), about 12 km away.

Before pickup

Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Every driver's licence and identity are checked before we confirm.

Request, offer, keys

To book, you request the car for your dates. There is no charge to send it and no obligation. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

When you know your dates

Questions, dates or both: put them in a request and we answer.
