Why this works

You deal with a small team that answers the phone and reads every request. Whatever the reason for the rental, the steps are the same. Rates are before 13% HST, and the offer shows the tax too. The deposit is never taken when you book, only shortly before pickup.

When it makes sense

Anyone whose own car is booked in for service for a few days. Families who need a bigger car for a trip than the one they own.

What to bring

We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. A card in your name pays for the rental, and we see it with your licence at pickup.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

Requesting a car

Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. You then get an offer from us with the car, the dates and the total before tax. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. A rental of 7 days or longer is priced at the weekly rate. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.

Next step

Request a car, read the offer, and decide. That is the whole process.
