CarmaCars and Hester

CarmaCars has a single location, in Toronto. Hester is outside the area we serve. Hester lies about 1,114 km from our location in Toronto, well outside our delivery area of about 250 km.

For Hester itself, look for a local rental company; for the Toronto end of the trip, we can help. Taking a car out of Ontario needs our written consent before the trip, so ask in your request. Unsure? Send a request about Hester, and we answer plainly. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax.

Why this works

Every car is a real listing with its own rates, so you compare before you ask. You choose the car, we confirm it, and the offer shows every charge. If the car you want is taken, we suggest the closest match we have. Questions are answered by people who know the cars.

Who it is for

People with family in town who need a second car for a while. Anyone between a car sale and a car purchase.

The steps

Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. Back comes an offer you can read at your own pace, with every charge on it. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. Last-minute plans are fine with at least 2 hours of notice.

Before you rent

We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

You pick how damage to the car is handled before pickup: OPCF 27, a credit card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.

When you know your dates
