Reach and distance

CarmaCars works from one location in Toronto and does not operate in Phoenix. At about 1,057 km from our location in Toronto, Phoenix is past the 250 km our delivery covers.

Most trips to Phoenix start with a flight; if yours starts in Toronto, we can cover the car at this end. A rental can leave Ontario only with our written consent, agreed before you go. Common reasons to rent

Anyone whose own car is booked in for service for a few days. Drivers who want to try a different kind of car for a week.

The useful parts

Whatever the reason for the rental, the steps are the same. Every car is a real listing with its own rates, so you compare before you ask. You do not need to visit a branch: everything starts online. Each car has its own page with photos of that car, not a stock image of a category.

Booking in plain terms

You begin by requesting a car for your dates; the request is free. Our team answers with an offer: the confirmed car, the dates and the full price. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. Longer trips cost less a day: the weekly rate starts at 7 days. Leave at least 2 hours between your request and the pickup.

What we check

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.

You pick how damage to the car is handled before pickup: OPCF 27, a credit card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.
