Car Rental in Pierre, SD

Renting with CarmaCars in Pierre

This page is for Pierre, but CarmaCars rents from Toronto. Here is the plain answer. Rent by the day, the week or up to 365 days at a time. Drivers 18 and older with an Ontario G2 or G licence can rent. Prices are before 13% HST, and your offer shows the total before you pay.

Distance, honestly

Straight answer: there is no CarmaCars location in Pierre. We rent from Toronto. About 1,674 km separate central Toronto and Pierre, far past our 80 km delivery area.

If you are flying from Toronto to Pierre, we can help with a car on the Toronto side of the trip. A border crossing needs our written consent in advance; ask in your request. If you still want to ask about Pierre, send a request; we would rather say no than overpromise. Rates on this site are in Canadian dollars, before tax.

When it makes sense

People whose car is in the shop, people visiting family, and people trying a model before they buy. Anyone who needs a car for a few days without owning one.

What to expect

Whatever the reason for the rental, the steps are the same. You choose the car, we confirm it, and the offer shows every charge. Your bookings, receipts and agreements are in your account. You see the price before you pay, and a person confirms every booking.

Driving in and around Pierre

If you are near Pierre, Gray Goose, Grey Goose and Oahe are close too. Close to Pierre: South Dakota National Guard Museum, Museum of the South Dakota State Historical Society and KCCR-AM (Pierre).

The closest airport is Pierre Municipal Airport, about 5 km away.

How a booking comes together

You start by asking: a car, a start time, an end time. Asking is free. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.

You can see every car's calendar and rates before you send anything. A week or more is priced at the weekly rate, from 7 days. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

Rules for renters

Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. We accept young drivers; those under 26 pay a daily fee. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held before each rental; the amount is on the car's page. We confirm each driver's licence and identity the same way.
