The A4 in black

We cannot promise a colour until we confirm; ask for black and we try. Ask for black in your request; the offer confirms the colour of the car. Tell us if black is a must or a preference, and we look accordingly.

What the specs mean

Power comes from the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo, driving through a 7-speed automatic. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Plan on about 23 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 7.8 L/100 km. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $40.95 at our price setting.

What to expect from the A4

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. The trunk holds 368 litres by the EPA's count: about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who rents the A4

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Rules for renters

Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. The young driver fee covers drivers under 26; older drivers pay no age fee. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.

Your booking, in three steps

Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. A person replies with an offer priced for your dates, not an estimate. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

Every car on the site has a page of its own, with its calendar and its rates. Longer trips cost less a day: the weekly rate starts at 7 days. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
