Engine and fuel

The 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid with all-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 25 litres, from its 8.3 L/100 km rating. That works out to about $12.87 per 100 km at our price setting.

Living with the A4

As a compact car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. With 340 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who rents the A4

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

In our fleet

None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. We meet you with the car at the time we confirm, at your address or ours.

Renting: the basics

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. Your licence and the card you paid with come with you to the pickup.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits are listed car by car, so you can compare before you ask. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.

How a booking comes together

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.

Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.
