Specs, explained

The powertrain to know here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

The EPA rates it at 8.3 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 25 litres. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $128.70.

What to expect from the A4

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. Its 340 litre trunk is enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Good uses for the A4

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Rent this car

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below.

From request to keys

A short online request with the car and your times gets things moving, at no cost. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. For longer stays, each booking of up to 365 days renews with a new agreement. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.

What you need to rent

You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

You pick how damage to the car is handled before pickup: OPCF 27, a credit card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Expect a deposit before every rental; its amount is set by the car. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.
