What the figures tell you

The powertrain to know here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Fuel use is rated 8.3 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 25 litres. In energy, every 100 km costs about $12.87 at our price setting.

When the A4 makes sense

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

How big it is

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. The EPA lists 340 litres for luggage, roughly about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Can you rent one?

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.

The rules, briefly

You must be 18 or older and hold a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.

The steps

Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. We reply with an offer for the car and the dates, priced in full. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. A booking can be a single day or up to 365 days. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
