The figures, translated

The engine is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic. It is a plug-in hybrid: it runs on electricity for a short distance, then on gas like a regular hybrid. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Combined fuel use is 8.8 L/100 km: about 26 litres for 300 km. On electricity alone it is rated for about 644 km before the gas engine takes over. A 300 km weekend costs about $40.92 in energy at our price setting.

Who it is for

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Space, size and seats

Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well. It measures 4.68 m long by 1.89 m wide. It fits most condo and driveway spots.

Our Q5 cars

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below.

Who qualifies

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. Drivers below 26 pay a fee each day of the rental, and older drivers pay none. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

Request, offer, keys

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.

The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.
