The figures, translated

The 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo does the work, through a 6-speed automatic. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Rated at 8.4 L/100 km combined, it needs around 25 litres for a 300 km round trip. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $13.02.

How big it is

As a compact SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier. EPA lists 850 litres of luggage space, enough for bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

When the Equinox makes sense

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Renting the Equinox from CarmaCars

Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates.

What you need to rent

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.

Before pickup, choose how damage to the car is handled: your auto policy (OPCF 27), your credit card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. We verify licences and identity for every renter, with no exceptions.

How a booking comes together

Your part at the start is short: choose a car and dates and send a free request. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. You pay when you approve, and only then.

Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Leave at least 2 hours between your request and the pickup.

Make a request

The quickest way to a price is a request with your dates. It costs nothing.
