What the figures tell you

It runs the 3.0L 6-cylinder turbo, with all-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Expect about 36 litres for every 300 km, going by its 12.1 L/100 km combined rating. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $63.54 at our price setting.

How big it is

Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

Who the Macan suits

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

What to bring

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. Bring the card you paid with and your original licence to the handover.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.

How to book

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
