Meet the 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range

The 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range is a mid-size car; here is what that means for you. The Long Range is trim 2 of 3 in the Canadian lineup of the 2021 Tesla Model 3.

Specs, explained

The powertrain to know here is the electric motor, with all-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires. It shifts by itself; there is no clutch pedal to think about.

It uses 15.6 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 47 kWh of charge. On paper it goes 568 km between charges, less in winter. At 240 V, a full charge takes about 11.2 hours, according to the EPA. That works out to about $2.34 per 100 km at our price setting.

Longer drives

A trip like Toronto to Ottawa, about 450 km, fits within its rated range. Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. Its rated range covers a drive like Toronto to Ottawa, about 450 km, with a margin.

Space and size

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. For luggage, 425 litres means a family's bags for a long weekend.

Who it is for

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Can I rent it?

Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.

What we ask of drivers

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Under 26, a young driver fee applies for each day of the rental. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. The checks are the same for everyone: licence, identity and the agreement.

Your booking, in three steps

Start with a request. Choose the car, the pickup time and the return time, and send it without paying anything. A person replies with an offer priced for your dates, not an estimate. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.

Ready when you are

A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
