Colour notes

Tell us if silver is a must or a preference, and we look accordingly. The studio image shows the Model 3 in silver; photos of each real car are on its page. Our silver cars of this kind are listed first, when we have one.

What the figures tell you

Power comes from the electric motor, driving through a 1-speed automatic. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Energy use is rated at 18.6 kWh/100 km, about 56 kWh for 300 km. On paper it goes 507 km between charges, less in winter. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $8.37 at our price setting.

Best uses

Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Living with the Model 3

As a mid-size car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. Its 425 litres of luggage space fit a family's bags for a long weekend.

What we check

Our minimum age is 18; an Ontario G2 or G licence is required. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.

The steps

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. Next comes our offer, with the confirmed car and every charge on one page. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
