The 2012 Tesla Model S, explained
Everything we can source about the 2012 Tesla Model S is on this page.
What the figures tell you
The electric motor does the work, through a 1-speed automatic. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference. The automatic gearbox makes city traffic easy.
It uses 23.6 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 71 kWh of charge. A full charge is rated for 426 km; plan for less in the cold. Expect about $3.54 per 100 km at our price setting.
Longer drives
Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. Trips outside Ontario need our written consent, agreed before you go. Return the car with the same charge it had at pickup.
Best uses
It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.
What the Model S is like
Being a large sedan, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. Luggage space is 736 litres, enough for bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.
Can you rent one?
Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.
What to expect when you book
Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.
Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.
The rules, briefly
If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.
Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.
