About the 2016 Tesla Model X

If you are looking at the 2016 Tesla Model X, here is what the figures say.

Specs, explained

It is powered by the electric motor, with all-wheel drive. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter. It shifts by itself; there is no clutch pedal to think about.

At 23.1 kWh/100 km, a 300 km day uses roughly 69 kWh. On paper it goes 465 km between charges, less in winter. In energy, every 100 km costs about $3.47 at our price setting.

The Model X in everyday use

It offers the space of an SUV with the height that makes loading easy. With 736 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Out of town

For a trip out of Ontario, ask first: it needs our written consent. Return the car with the same charge it had at pickup. Its rated range covers a drive like Toronto to Tobermory, about 300 km, with a margin.

Good uses for the Model X

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits people who want to try an electric car before buying one. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. Delivery covers the Toronto area, priced by distance in your offer; pickup from us is free.

How to book

First, a request: the car you like, when you need it, and where. No payment yet. Back comes an offer you can read at your own pace, with every charge on it. You pay when you approve, and only then.

You can see every car's calendar and rates before you send anything. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.

Who qualifies

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. Your licence and the card you paid with come with you to the pickup.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held before each rental; the amount is on the car's page. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.

Your move

A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
