The figures, translated

Power comes from the 1.8L 4-cylinder, driving through an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Rated at 7.5 L/100 km combined, it needs around 23 litres for a 300 km round trip. In money, 1,000 km costs about $116.30 at our price setting.

When the Corolla makes sense

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.

How big it is

Being a mid-size car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. The EPA measures its luggage space at 368 litres, roughly about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

In our fleet

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

Request, offer, keys

All you send at first is a request with the car and the dates, and it is free. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.

Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

What you need to rent

You must be 18 or older and hold a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
