Arranging the work for the WIM
For battery service on your 1985 GMC WIM, we arrange a trusted shop; CarmaCars does not do the work. Lights left on overnight are the classic reason for a flat battery.
Before the shop sees your WIM
If you have the service history of your WIM, have it ready for the shop. Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the WIM.
Who does what
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name. The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work.
Keep moving meanwhile
If the repair runs long, keep the rental longer. Pick a car that suits your week from our fleet. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.
What to ask
Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used.
Good habits for your car
Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months.
When you know your dates
Start with the car, the job and your location.
Request battery boost
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
