Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.
Small things that help
Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair.
