Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter.
Before the shop starts
Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there.
