The 2002 Chevrolet Impala: Car diagnostics
For a diagnostic check on the 2002 Chevrolet Impala, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.
Before the shop sees your Impala
The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the Impala. Tell the shop the year, the trim and the engine: the 3.4L 6-cylinder. The powertrain here is the 3.4L 6-cylinder with front-wheel drive and a 4-speed automatic.
Who does what
We keep you posted until the car is booked in. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop. You approve the shop's quote before any work.
Driving while yours is at the shop
If the repair runs long, keep the rental longer. The rental is priced like any other on our site. The handover is in person, at your address or at our location.
Car care, briefly
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair.
Before the shop starts
Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it.
Send a request
Tell us the job and the car, and a person replies.
Request car diagnostics
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
