The Chevrolet Spectrum: Car diagnostics
For a diagnostic check on the Chevrolet Spectrum, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. A steady check engine light needs a check soon; a flashing one means pull over safely and get help.
Details the shop needs
Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. If you have the service history of your Spectrum, have it ready for the shop.
Who does what
You agree the price with the shop before any work starts. We pass your request to a trusted shop or give you its name. The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. Rent by the day or the week, and stop when your car is back. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare.
Car care, briefly
Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Check that all lights work every few weeks.
Ready when you are
Send a request: the car, the problem and when suits you.
Request car diagnostics
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
