Arranging the work for the WHEB
Searching for car diagnostics for the 1989 GMC WHEB? CarmaCars does not do this work itself; we arrange it with a trusted shop. A steady check engine light needs a check soon; a flashing one means pull over safely and get help.
About your WHEB
Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the WHEB. Mention the trim and engine in your request; parts differ between them. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car.
How the arrangement works
The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. You approve the shop's quote before any work. Tell us when suits you, and whether the car can be driven.
Driving while yours is at the shop
Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. If the repair runs long, keep the rental longer. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon.
Car care, briefly
Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair.
Next step
Start with a short request; a person replies within one business day.
