Arranging the work for the MX-5

For a diagnostic check on the 2022 Mazda MX-5 GT, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.

Your MX-5 and the shop

Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the MX-5. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. The engine is the 2.0L 4-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic.

What CarmaCars does here

Send a request with the car and what it needs; a person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. You agree the price with the shop before any work starts.

Small things that help

Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule.

Questions to ask the shop

Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies.
