The Polestar: Car diagnostics
CarmaCars does not do this work itself. For a diagnostic check on the Polestar, we arrange it with a trusted shop or connect you with one. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.
Your car, your notes
Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request.
Who does what
We tell you plainly if we do not know a shop for the job. We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date.
A car while yours is in the shop
Rent for as long as the job takes, by the day or the week. Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.
A short checklist
If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.
Good habits for your car
If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.
Ready when you are
Tell us the job and the car, and a person replies.
Request car diagnostics
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
