Car diagnostics: how we help
For a diagnostic check on the 1998 Volvo FML, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.
Your FML and the shop
Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare.
The steps
The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car. We keep you posted until the car is booked in. Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
What to ask
Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for.
Between shop visits
Check that all lights work every few weeks. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold.
Over to you
Send a request: the car, the problem and when suits you.
Request car diagnostics
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
