A note on Java

We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here. Java is about 770 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area.

What the figures tell you

The powertrain to know here is the 6.2L 8-cylinder supercharged, with four-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

Rated at 19.8 L/100 km combined, it needs around 59 litres for a 300 km round trip. Expect about $34.65 per 100 km at our price setting.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Space and size

As a pickup truck, it has an open bed for things that would never fit in a trunk.

What we check

Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Your licence and the card you paid with come with you to the pickup.

Liability to others is in the rate. Damage to the car is handled by your policy (OPCF 27), your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer. Expect a deposit before every rental; its amount is set by the car. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.

What to expect when you book

A request is free and takes a few minutes: the car, your dates, and pickup or delivery. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.

You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. For longer stays, each booking of up to 365 days renews with a new agreement. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
