Car service and the 2011 BMW Active E
This 2011 BMW Active E page is written for a car with a driver: the car first, then renting it from us. Chauffeur bookings are by the hour, two hours minimum; send a request and we reply with the vehicle we can offer and the price.
Engine and fuel
The electric motor does the work, through a 1-speed automatic. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
Energy use is rated at 20.5 kWh/100 km, about 62 kWh for 300 km. The EPA rates its range at 151 km. Winter cold and fast highway driving cut that down. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $3.08, and a 300 km weekend about $9.24.
Who the Active E suits
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits people who want to try an electric car before buying one.
Space, size and seats
It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. Luggage space is rated at 170 litres: about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.

You start by asking: a car, a start time, an end time. Asking is free. We look at the request and send back an offer with the price for your exact dates. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.
Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
Licence, age and card
Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.
Choose before pickup how damage to the car is handled: your policy with OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We hold the deposit shortly before pickup and release it after the return. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.
