Car service: the 2011 MINI Cooper
Here is the 2011 MINI Cooper, for anyone after a car with a driver. Chauffeur bookings are by the hour, two hours minimum; send a request and we reply with the vehicle we can offer and the price.
Reading the spec sheet
The powertrain here is the 1.6L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
Expect about 23 litres for every 300 km, going by its 7.6 L/100 km combined rating. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $13.30.
What to expect from the Cooper
Low and compact, it is a car for the drive more than the cargo. The EPA measures its luggage space at 170 litres, roughly about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.
Best uses
It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.
Rent this car
Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.
What happens when you ask for a car
Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. You receive an offer with the price, the deposit and what is included. You pay when you approve, and only then.
Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. Book by the week from 7 days, or by the month up to 365 days. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.
What to bring
Our minimum age is 18; an Ontario G2 or G licence is required. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. A credit card in your name is needed, except on cars marked "no credit card needed", which take debit.
Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We hold the deposit shortly before pickup and release it after the return. We confirm each driver's licence and identity the same way.
When you know your dates
Ask for the car, read the offer, approve it if it suits you.
