The A4 and Java

Frankfort, Sharples and Raab Corners are the closest places to Java on our list.

Reading the spec sheet

It is powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

Fuel use is rated 8.3 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 25 litres. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $12.87.

Who it is for

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country.

What to expect from the A4

Being a compact car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. With 340 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Can I rent it?

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. We meet you with the car at the time we confirm, at your address or ours.

Before pickup

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. We confirm each driver's licence and identity the same way.

What happens when you ask for a car

A short online request with the car and your times gets things moving, at no cost. Our team answers with an offer: the confirmed car, the dates and the full price. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.

You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. Leave at least 2 hours between your request and the pickup.

The next step is yours: send a request whenever you are ready.
