The rules, briefly

Our minimum age is 18; an Ontario G2 or G licence is required. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is never taken when you book; it comes about 1 hour before pickup. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

How a booking comes together

You choose a car and your dates online and send a request. Sending it costs nothing. You receive an offer with the price, the deposit and what is included. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.
