The 2021 Audi A4 Technik: Car subscription

If a car by the month is the plan, the 2021 Audi A4 Technik is worth a look; here is why. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.

The numbers in plain words

The 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid is what moves it, with all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

It is rated 8.3 L/100 km combined: about 25 litres every 300 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $38.61 in energy at our price setting.

A good match for

Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Room inside

Being a compact car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. With 340 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Can you rent one?

If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Delivery covers the Toronto area, priced by distance in your offer; pickup from us is free.

Driver requirements

We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.

Booking in plain terms

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. Requests for later the same day work when there are at least 2 hours to spare.
