The 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo hybrid is what moves it, with all-wheel drive. It is a plug-in hybrid: it runs on electricity for a short distance, then on gas like a regular hybrid. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.
By the EPA's combined rating of 8.3 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 25 litres. It can cover about 531 km on electricity before switching to gas. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $38.61 at our price setting.

The rules, briefly
Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. Age fees stop at 26: younger drivers pay a daily young driver fee. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.
The CarmaCars Protection Plan is priced in your offer by car and driver age, as one of three options for damage to the car. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
Booking, step by step
A request is free and takes a few minutes: the car, your dates, and pickup or delivery. We look at the request and send back an offer with the price for your exact dates. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.
Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
