Car subscription: the 2011 BMW X5
If you need a car by the month, the 2011 BMW X5 is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
The figures, translated
The 3.0L 6-cylinder turbo with all-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It runs on diesel, sold at most highway stations. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.
The EPA rates it at 10.9 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 33 litres. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $16.90, and a 300 km weekend about $50.70.
Space, size and seats
As an SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.
Good uses for the X5
It suits winter trips and weekends with more gear than people. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.
Rent it from us
Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.
Driver requirements
Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.
If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.
Requesting a car
Pick the car and the dates that suit you, then send a request. There is no payment at that point. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.
You can see every car's calendar and rates before you send anything. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.
