The 2021 Ford Escape SE: Car subscription

Car subscription: the 2021 Ford Escape SE. Here is the car in plain words, and how renting one from CarmaCars works. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.

A note on Java

CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 1,072 km from Java, and does not deliver there. We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here.

Tara Village, South Side and Howe are the closest places to Java on our list.

Specs, explained

Power: the 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo; drive: front-wheel drive. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Plan on about 23 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 7.8 L/100 km. In money, 1,000 km costs about $120.90 at our price setting.

When the Escape makes sense

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

What to expect from the Escape

As a compact SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

Can you rent one?

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below.

Who can rent

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. We need to see the card and the licence of the person renting.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.

Your request, our offer, your keys

You ask for the car you want for the dates you need. The request itself is free. We reply with an offer for the car and the dates, priced in full. You pay only once you approve the offer.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.
