About the 2001 Ford Explorer

Want to know if the 2001 Ford Explorer suits a car by the month? Read on. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.

What the specs mean

The 4.0L 6-cylinder with rear-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It runs on regular gas. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

It is rated 13.5 L/100 km combined: about 41 litres every 300 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $62.79 in energy at our price setting.

What the Explorer is like

Being an SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

Your request, our offer, your keys

A booking with us starts as a request that you send without paying. An offer follows, with the car we confirm and the full price for your dates. You pay only once you approve the offer.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

Renting: the basics

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

You pick how damage to the car is handled before pickup: OPCF 27, a credit card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is never taken when you book; it comes about 1 hour before pickup. We verify licences and identity for every renter, with no exceptions.
