The figures, translated

It is powered by the 4.0L 6-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

Combined fuel use is 14.7 L/100 km: about 44 litres for 300 km. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $68.37 at our price setting.

Who rents the Explorer

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Size and space

Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.

Can I rent it?

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.

What to expect when you book

Start with a request. Choose the car, the pickup time and the return time, and send it without paying anything. We review it and reply with an offer that shows the whole price, delivery included when you asked for it. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

The photos on a car's page are of that car. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.

What you need to rent

Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

Talk to a person

Request a car, read the offer, and decide. That is the whole process.
