Car subscription and the 2016 Ford Explorer

The 2016 Ford Explorer is on this page for car subscription: here is what to know before you request one. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.

Reading the spec sheet

The powertrain here is the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

It is rated at 10.8 L/100 km combined; 300 km takes about 32 litres. Every 100 km costs about $16.74 in fuel at our price setting.

What the Explorer is like

As a full-size SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

Who rents the Explorer

It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Our Explorer cars

There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. Delivery covers the Toronto area, priced by distance in your offer; pickup from us is free.

Rules for renters

You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. We need to see the card and the licence of the person renting.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

What happens when you ask for a car

Choose the car and your times, then send a request. A request does not hold the car, and it costs nothing. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. Book by the week from 7 days, or by the month up to 365 days. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.
