Car subscription: the 2016 Ford Flex
Want the 2016 Ford Flex as a car by the month? Start here: the car in plain words, then how booking works. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.
What the figures tell you
The 3.5L 6-cylinder does the work, through a 6-speed automatic. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
The EPA rates it at 12.4 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 37 litres. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $19.22.
How big it is
Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.
Good uses for the Flex
It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.
Renting this car
If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.
Who can rent
Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
How a booking comes together
Every rental begins with a request from you. It costs nothing and it does not hold the car. A person replies with an offer priced for your dates, not an estimate. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.
Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

How much does fuel cost to drive the 2016 Ford Flex 100 km?
About $19.22 for fuel, from the EPA combined rating of 12.4 L/100 km (3.5L 6-cylinder, front-wheel drive, 6-speed automatic) at $1.55 a litre. You return the car with the same fuel it had at pickup.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?

For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. Can the car be delivered?
