Java and the Wrangler

Selby, Lowry and Sitka are the neighbouring places on our list.

The figures, translated

Under the hood: the 3.6L 6-cylinder and four-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

By the EPA's combined rating of 12.8 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 38 litres. The fuel for 100 km comes to about $19.84 at our price setting.

Space, size and seats

Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

Good uses for the Wrangler

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Our Wrangler cars

This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. We meet you with the car at the time we confirm, at your address or ours.

What to have ready

Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.

Before pickup, choose how damage to the car is handled: your auto policy (OPCF 27), your credit card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

What to expect when you book

Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. Pay when you approve, not a minute before.

Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. Book by the week from 7 days, or by the month up to 365 days. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.
