Car subscription with this car
The 2016 Kia Optima is on this page for car subscription: here is what to know before you request one. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.
What the figures tell you
The 2.4L 4-cylinder hybrid does the work, through a 6-speed automatic. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
By the EPA's combined rating of 6.5 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 20 litres. For 1,000 km, budget about $100.80 at our price setting.
The Optima in everyday use
Being a large sedan, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. The EPA measures its luggage space at 311 litres, roughly about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Who it is for
It suits stop-and-go driving and rideshare or delivery work. Its low fuel use suits long commutes and high-kilometre weeks.
Renting it
Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.
How renting with us works
You choose a car and your dates online and send a request. Sending it costs nothing. Someone on our team confirms the car is free for those dates and sends you an offer with every charge listed. Approving the offer and paying it confirms the booking.
Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. One booking runs up to 365 days, and a longer stay renews with a new agreement. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.
Who can rent
Ontario G2 or G licences are accepted, for drivers 18 and older. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. The checks are the same for everyone: licence, identity and the agreement.
