Car subscription: the 2012 Kia Rio
For a car by the month, the 2012 Kia Rio could fit; below, the figures and how booking works. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
Engine and fuel
Its powertrain is the 1.6L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
Combined fuel use is 7.4 L/100 km: about 22 litres for 300 km. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $114.70.
Who the Rio suits
It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.
Practical details
A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. Luggage space is 425 litres, enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.
Can I rent it?
If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. The handover is in person, at your address or at our location.
Driver basics
If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.
If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Every driver's licence and identity are checked before we confirm.
Your request, our offer, your keys
Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. You pay when you approve, and only then.
A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.
Over to you
A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
