The 2017 Lexus ES: Car subscription
If a car by the month is the plan, the 2017 Lexus ES is worth a look; here is why. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
Reading the spec sheet
The 2.5L 4-cylinder hybrid with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
At 5.9 L/100 km combined, it is easy on fuel: about 18 litres for 300 km. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $27.45 at our price setting.
Who rents the ES
It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.
What to expect from the ES
It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. At 340 litres, the trunk fits about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Booking, step by step
You choose a car and your dates online and send a request. Sending it costs nothing. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.
The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
Driver requirements
Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. The card you pay with must be yours, and you bring it to the handover.
Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We hold the deposit shortly before pickup and release it after the return. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.
